Weaponry Ownership

“I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness,
nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend”
J.R.R. Tolkien

There is no doubt about it, a weapon is a powerful thing. When any weapon is wielded, it can change a person dramatically. A weapon can be used for evil and harm, or it can be used for deeds both both heroic and just to help others.

At the MAD Dwarf workshop, we take pride in crafting all of our weaponry to be fully functional and real, just as they were made hundreds of years ago. But in NO way do we support the use of our weapons to be used to harm ANYONE!

Then why create a weapon you ask? Why create a tool that is meant for the sole purpose of harming someone??..

We don’t craft weaponry because we think weapons are "cool" or because we enjoy violence or bloodshed. We craft weaponry for a much deeper and meaningful purpose! To inspire and encourage something good about mankind!

We hope that when you wield one of our weapons in your hand, that you feel a sense of honor, valor, principle, and moral responsibility as a warrior might have felt hundreds of years ago when protecting the innocent or weak.

Our goal is to inspire good, not evil.

With that in mind, if someone was to use one of our weapons to harm someone, we are in no way shape or form responsible for their violent actions.

We hope you keep this at mind when viewing or purchasing our weaponry, and understand the moral standpoint that we are coming from.

Practical Safe Usage:

We do not want any of our work to be used in any violent way. But our work can absolutely be used in other ways that are respectable professional and mature! Such as:

  • practical common utility work (mostly for knives and daggers)
  • reenactment and historical education
  • common test cutting against things like Tatami Omote Mats, cardboard, woods, vegetation, water bottles, ect...

And the list goes on.

So when buying or commissioning a piece from us make sure to clearly specify what you will be using that piece for and why you have chosen to do that.

Sword Care

If you use your sword either through reenactment or even simple test cutting, you need to know how to keep care of it.

Read this article from myarmoury.com to learn the basics of sword care.
