Dwarven Hatchet

This piece was a special commission by our bladesmithing friend Stephen Renico.
It also was our first ever fully forged axe, so it was quite a learning experience!
He asked for something that looked unique, that would stand out against other small using axes. We forged the edge of the blade out of 80+ year old high carbon leaf spring and forge welded wrapped a low carbon strip around the back to make up the entire ace head. Along with engraved runes that read "RENICO" and carved geometric knot work on the grip, the end result was functional but eye catching and different. Making a user friendly axe that’s a great tool to have at your side while working in the woods.
