the Deep Woods Dagger

This dagger was a special joint project between myself, David
DelaGardelle and my good friend and fellow craftsman Shad
Peters. We crafted this piece together as a gift for our
awesome high school technology teacher, Mr. Evans. Not only
was he a great teacher during our high school years, but he
was and still is one of our biggest supporters and like minded
friends when it comes to the work that we do. Being a fan
of old Irish music and culture, of woodworking and metalworking,
we decided to pour those elements into this piece to make
a fitting and functional dagger.
I (David) saw after the crafting of the blade, guard, and
belt hook element. While Shad crafted all of the wooden elements
out of walnut for an organic rustic look. While I am a blacksmith,
Shad is a true luthier. a highly skilled instruments craftsman
and woodworker. Together our joint knowledge turned out a
piece that we are both extremely satisfied with.
Shads work is amazing. the craftsmanship and quality he puts
into each guitar banjo or whatever else he decides to make
is simply mindblowing! Please support his work and check out

Instruments Flickr Photo Gallery.
