Vinwid

Crafted by David DelaGardelle, Vinwid is a wrought iron and tool steel knife that was first forged is the same place that inspired the idea for the knife itself, Door County Wisconsin. Since childhood I spent my summers in Door County experiencing the beautiful cedar forests and serene lakes that serve as a big inspiration in my work. And in the summer of 2007 Andy Davis and I got the chance to hang out with Ric Furrer, one of the most talented and skilled smiths in the states. He helped us weld the beginnings of what would become the blade of Vinwid. All along the process even once it came to our shop to be finished we documented step by step the making of this knife in a short video:
